As I'm trying to get my child to sleep, I'm also texting a friend about how busy this time of year is. Along with all the normal rushing around and errands, I've also been blessed with a very inquisitive child who has a strong thirst for knowledge.
If you also have been blessed with such a child, please encourage them. There are so many in this world who will end up later in life making people like me wonder how they get dressed in the morning without help. We need to teach out children all te things they want to know, both so they know them and so they feel important. Mommy and daddy's it's really care about you if they look up things to tell you about them.
Today we learned new words, adding, and now she's learning to count to 10 in 3 languages. It's taken me 30 some years to learn all the things I'm teaching her, but I'm happy to help her in any way. Also, I'd much rather her mind be filled with useful information and for her to want to learn then to worry about cotton candy thoughts and cartoons taking over my house.
I'm also hoping that by feeding her information now she will either continue to want to learn more, so when boys are important and the mall beckons she will still want to learn, or at least she will have enough knowledge crammed in her head that she can coast a year or two...
Children learn faster then adults. If they ask questions find the answers, teach them all you can now as the rewards later will benefit everyone around them, and they will find things easier later.
