Library Programs for Kids
Every year I get a library card. I find there is great value in a library card as I can read as many books as I want for one low cost, and I get to share the love of reading with my family. Most libraries have a discount or deal for families or small children, some even allow children to be free on an adult membership until a certain age.
Further, the library card allows me to register my child in extra programs. Some of these are free, some are a very low cost. It allows us time to spend together, she gets to socialize with other children and adults, and it encourages reading as an activity instead of just part of life. This has encouraged excitement towards reading and an increased interest in books. As an added bonus, reading is a quiet activity!

Discovery Toys
Looking for fun and educational toys? Discovery Toys has a range of toys from infant to school aged, and they are all garaunteed for life! I tried the Marble Castle in my home and it was a hit. The balls are large enough that small children and babies can't get them into their mouth, and make noise when shaken, making them multi purpose as just a ball seperate from the castle. The castle comes apart and goes back together easily, allowing children to learn how to build simple structures as well, and to keep it as short as needed or build it taller for older kids. This toy helps show that when something can't be seen it isn't always gone, as it passes through the castle at the bottom and reappears at the door, as well as helping learn that things move downwards, so the ramps must be higher on one side and lower on the other for the ball to move downwards.
Toys also come with discriptions of uses and playing suggestions, as well as information on what they will help teach children and what ages are appropriate. There is also a guide available for what toys help with certain learning disabilities or goals.

Phone Applications
FaceBook: Many people have this already, but I'll mention it anyway. Having this on your phone allows you to keep in contact with all your friends and busines contacts from anywhere. When integrated with your phone and the operating system (not applicable on all phones) it will update all your contacts from FB onto your contacts list, allow you to update your status from either the application or directly from your phones operating system without launching the app, locate and "like" new pages, and most FB operations.
WeatherNetwork: Like the TV channel this allows you to check the weather for your specific area any time, including future forcasts, and will deliver warnings and watches to your phone.
FaceBook Pages: This is available on most phones and allows you to update your fan page on FB. You can add pictures and status' as well as view insights, messages, and admin settings.
Vlingo: This is one of my person favorites, I had it both on my BB and my iPhone. It allows you to control almost all of your phones functions by voice command. Simply open the app and hold the button for it to register what you are saying and tell it what to do. I use it to send and reply to text messages, emails, and update my status on various social networks. It can also locate a business for you and search phone numbers, call people, and show you maps of how to get where you are going.
Cineplex Scene: This app both shows listing of movies at nearby theatres, showtimes, and theatre details, as well as has my Scene card stored in the app. You can view trailers and see when new movies will be released.
Lemon Wallet: Use the camera lens on your phone to copy in all of your customer loyalty cards and other cards (credit cards are can be included) into your phone and they will be stored in the Lemon Wallet app. You must turn on locations to use this to access the cards, but they can be scanned directly on the screen of your phone when you need to use them. There is a version that allows you to keep a back up copy through this service, however I do not currently subscribe to it. This app allows you to leave your cards at home and still use them.
ShopWise: Use this app to locate deals, coupons, daily offers, and sales local to you. You can search for items or stores, learn where to print valuable offers, and where to go to download free books, games, and other itemes.
Weebly: Add content to your website and blogs from your phone. This is simple to use, fast, and posts your additions live at the push of a button. Write your blog where and when ever inspiration hits, and choose to store it in drafts for access from a computer later or publish live

MicroFibre!!
It's time for me to share one of my favorite cleaning secrets! I adore using microfibre. Clothes, sponges, mop heads, whatever I can find, if I can get it in microfibre I will. My windows and mirrors are streak free, my sinks are clean, and I'm chemical free. I have some cleaner I use with it (more on that later) but often, especially for a quick clean up, I simply use water and my favorite sponge.
