I've leaned that without a proper schedule nothing gets done. Lots of people can do things other ways, but I certainly need my day planned out, just a little bit. I've given up on sticking to it exactly, but the bones have to be there!
It honestly starts with my child's schedule. It is so hard to deal with everythign that comes up when a child is off schedule. I find that it creates frustration, tears, and sleepyness in my house. I get up in the morning when she does, or, if I'm lucky, an hour before! Then I make breakfast, of course :) After breakfast is out getting ready time, and some time together, right up until snack time. Snack time until lunch is my phone call space, or we run all those errands hat everyone has to do, but no one really wants too. I start with all the family calls first, then work calls. These often lead to interesting conversations, as undoubtedly someone will return a missed call as soon as I start cooking...
After lunch we spend some quiet time, by then I need it!! Emails and more phone calls... Or at least the ones I didn't complete while running errands earlier. By the time we reach snack time, and story time, then it's time for planning. We plan work stuff, home stuff, school stuff, and meals. We also make sure that we have a schedule for the week. Which day we clean what, when appointments are, and when I have time for playdates and coffee dates. Without my weekly schedule the days mean nothing!
It can be hard, but I have to fit cleaning and time with my friends in there somewhere too... Do you use a schedule or just see how the day goes??
