It's hard to take care of people all day and not run yourself down. It's hard to do anything day after day after day if you aren't taking care of yourself. MOmmy time isn't just about taking care of mommy, or doing something relaxing, it's really about making mommy able to function and to have enough to give to her family. Enough energy, enough hope, enough emotional fullfillment. If you are exhausted, you can't be happy, healthy, or caring. You can't miantain your patience, you can't cook healthy meals (at least without buring them...) and you can't give if you have nothing left to give. So how do we make sure we CAN care for our families? We need to take care of ourselves. Take some time for a long shower, have a nap, exercise for increased energy, or even just sit and read for an hour. After you are rested and ready, you will have so much more energy and you will be ready to care for you family in all the ways they need you too. On days when I just don't think I have any time for myself, I remember that that will mean tomorrow I have no time for anyone else. It's a balance we all need, we all deserve, and it will make our families and our children happier when we do it. How do you spend your mommy time?
